Anti-Spam Policy

We take spam seriously.

Every InboxFamily account runs on infrastructure built to block spam, protect your reputation, and keep your inbox clean. Here's how.

Zero tolerance for spam

Sending unsolicited bulk email from InboxFamily is grounds for immediate account termination, no warnings, no second chances. We monitor outbound patterns and act fast to protect every domain on our platform.

How we protect your inbox

Multiple layers of filtering work together to stop spam before it reaches you.

DNS blocklists (DNSBL)Checks sending addresses, domains and links against seventeen public reputation lists, Spamhaus and Spamcop among them. They update themselves.
Statistical classifierA statistical model that reads the words, the structure and the headers, and scores how much a message looks like spam. It keeps learning, so it recognises a campaign that did not exist last week.
It learns from your familyMarking a message as junk, or as not junk, teaches the filter. It also learns on its own from your replies, your contacts, and the messages it already knows are spam. The model is shared by everyone on the server, so a campaign one family reports is one the next family never sees.
Phishing detectionScans URLs for homograph attacks, link spoofing, and known phishing domains. Cross-references OpenPhish and PhishTank databases.
Collaborative filteringEvery message is fingerprinted and checked against Pyzor, a network of servers that have seen the same spam arrive somewhere else first.
Automatic IP banningDetects brute-force login attempts, unauthorized relay attempts, and port scanning. Offending IPs are banned without anyone lifting a finger.

Email authentication

Every domain on InboxFamily is auto-configured with industry-standard authentication protocols.

SPFVerifies that emails come from authorized servers for your domain.
DKIMCryptographically signs every outgoing message to prove it wasn’t tampered with.
DMARCTells receiving servers how to handle messages that fail SPF or DKIM checks.

Sending limits

Fair-use limits protect your domain reputation and prevent abuse.

If you received spam from a domain we host, or if our IP has been added to a blocklist, we want to know. We read every report and act on it. We do not commit to a response time.

What happens when we detect abuse

We take a graduated approach depending on severity, but reserve the right to act immediately for serious violations.

1
WarningFor minor or first-time issues like accidental bulk sends. We notify the account admin and ask for correction.
2
Sending suspendedOutbound email is disabled for the offending mailbox until the issue is resolved. Incoming mail still works.
3
Account terminationFor deliberate spam, phishing, or repeated violations. The account is closed. The domain stays yours, registered in your name, and you take it wherever you like. No refund.
